DeKALB – The Campus Activity Board will be hosting the first virtual seminar in their Wellness Series of informative workshops and events. The seminar, titled Money Management, will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday via Microsoft Teams.
Designed for NIU students, participants will learn about budgeting their finances, utilizing the NIU Planning and Cost Estimator, cost of attendance, and taking advantage of available financial aid options.
Shannen Sutherland, creator of the Wellness Series, said she chose this topic for a place in the series because financial planning and budgeting have been more difficult for students because of the circumstances imposed by COVID-19 restrictions.
“I think with the pandemic, a lot of students are struggling financially,” Sutherland said. “I also think that students have been struggling to find the resources to deal with these things. That’s what I’ve gathered as a graduate assistant working with the Activities Board and working with the students.”
There is no cost of attendance and no registration is required.
Interested participants should follow the link to go.niu.edu/CABMM at the scheduled time to take part. The next event in the series will take place next month.
